Just a 25-minute train journey from the centre of London, Dacorum occupies an enviable location just outside of the M25 and is home to the towns of Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring. Dacorum is an active and green place which is a centre of business, enterprise and ambition. We are progressing our New Local Plan and as such, we will continue to receive exciting and challenging applications in our towns and rural areas.
We are an innovative and ambitious planning department, dealing with not only a high number of planning applications but being at the forefront of planning system advances.
What is the Role?
The successful candidate will be responsible for the processing of a varied development management caseload, with an emphasis on the more complex and major applications including pre-applications and appeals.
In this role you will play a significant part in leading and being responsible for the efficient delivery of major and strategic planning applications, including those subject to a PPA. This is an excellent career development opportunity to build on existing experience and/or to gain experience of a broader scope and range of application type.
You will have an excellent knowledge base of planning processes and legislation with a proven record of negotiating successful outcomes having worked collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and meeting performance standards whilst being committed to the needs of customers.
We therefore welcome experienced officers knowledgeable in the field of Development Management. A successful applicant would require a degree level standard of education, and be eligible for full membership of the RTPI.

Applicants must have a driving licence which is valid in the UK and use of a vehicle.
A basic DBS will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.
